Spelling Game is operated for users of spelling.live (the “service”). This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use the website or an app that loads this service.
The service is intended for use with a parent or guardian involved in account setup and supervision. Child profiles and learning activity should be managed by an adult where possible.
We use this information to provide and secure the service (authentication, syncing progress, generating educational content), troubleshoot issues, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.
If you are in the UK, EEA, or similar regions, we rely on contract (to run the service you asked for), legitimate interests (security, product improvement that does not override your rights), and, where required, consent (e.g. optional features you turn on).
Data is processed using services such as Vercel (hosting), Supabase (authentication and database), and vendors used for speech recognition and AI. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. We use measures appropriate to the service; no system is perfectly secure.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a way that violates applicable child-privacy rules. Parents or guardians should control sign-in, guest mode, and features that send data to our servers. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us (below) and we will take appropriate steps.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing.
If you use Parent sign in, you may request deletion of your account and associated synced data by emailing support@spelling.live from your sign-in email. We aim to complete verifiable requests within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days).
Guest mode data is stored locally on your device; clear it through browser or device settings, or use in-app clear options where available.
We retain information only as long as needed to run the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Synced data may be removed sooner if you delete your account or ask us to delete it, subject to backup and legal retention needs.
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
We may update this policy. We will adjust the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, may provide additional notice (e.g. on the site or in the app).
