Some spelling words need a capital letter: Monday, February, I, London. Here's how the app shows them, how to set words like May that can go either way, and how capitals are marked.
Days of the week, most months, I (and I'm, I'll), Mr, Mrs, Dr, countries, nationalities and festivals always show with their capital - however they were typed, and on lists you saved before this feature arrived. You don't need to do anything.
Type a name or place with a capital - Brighton, Tongo, your child's own name - and it is kept. We only keep the first capital, so BRIGHTON becomes Brighton.
The capital shows on the Look, hear & remember card, the flashed word, the "copy the word" help step, the correct answer after a miss, and your word list. Typing stays in lower case.
A few words mean one thing with a capital and another without: May the month and may the verb, March and march, August and august, Turkey the country and turkey the bird, China and china, Polish and polish, Jersey and jersey, Earth and earth.
Type the one your school means. Type May with a capital and your child sees the month, with a month sentence ("My birthday is in May.") and a month clue. Type may in lower case and it's the everyday word.

Phones capitalise the first letter you type, and many school lists are written with a capital on every line. So we don't keep a capital on an ordinary word like Cat or Because - it's almost always the keyboard, not the spelling. A list typed entirely in capitals-at-the-start is treated as formatting.

When you assign a list to your class, each pupil's copy keeps your capitals and any sentences or clues you wrote. Capitals are shown and reminded, never marked: a pupil who types monday is counted as right and sees a reminder about the capital, so the accuracy report stays about spelling.
