How sign-in, invites, and linked child access work in spelling.live.
Can create children, manage lists, set practice controls, and invite guardians/tutors.
Plays under parent account by selecting child profile.
Older children can use their own account after invite claim.
Only sees children they were explicitly linked to.
Open Your children (the lock icon on the home screen), expand any child's Practice settings accordion, and customise their experience without changing anything mid-session.
Toggle which modes are available for each child: Pick it (multiple choice), Write it (handwriting), Type it, Relevant letters only (sub-option under Type it), and Say it (voice). Disabled modes are hidden from the child's practice screen automatically.
Control whether ruled lines appear on the handwriting pad, and whether a letter-trace overlay is shown. Choose the trace style: dashed lines (worksheet look) or bubble outlines.
Show ← → buttons directly on the practice screen so children can move between words themselves — useful when they're working independently.
Sets how long the word is visible when the 👁️ Flash button is tapped during handwriting practice. Options: 1, 2, 3, 5, or 8 seconds. Shorter durations suit children who are ready to be challenged; longer durations suit children still building confidence with a word.
Set an optional numeric code per child. While practising, the Parents button will ask for the code before showing the settings panel — so children can't change modes or skip ahead unsupervised. Once unlocked, the panel stays open until you tap 🔒 Lock menu inside it. Switching to a different child automatically resets the lock.
Expand the Word lists section on any child's card to control which lists appear on the home screen and which one starts pre-selected.
